The middle Kengan observed the body posture of his brother, paying close attention to facial expressions, ect., as he listened carefully to the words his younger brother was saying in response to the question Kyo had asked. While at the moment he was sceptical and fully prepared to turn his back on his brother from his previous views. the answers he presented before the middle child caught him off guard but also caused Kyo's thoughts to slowly grow from disappointment to pride for Bōfū as he spoke. In the end, it was the answer Kyo hoped for which meant his training can finally begin.

As such, while Kyo was in the motion of his warning strike against Bōfū, his younger brother attacked him at the same time. However, with their differences in both output as well as endurance regardless of the younger brother being faster, the middle child didn't even flinch from the attack but while he DID feel the power behind it, his power wasn't enough to hurt the Kengan or even make him wince in pain the slightest, and as such his own attack continued it's trajectory with no wavering. The only difference in his punch now that Bōfū showed he had been ready to fight him; Was the simple fact that Kyo put more force and power behind the attack with the use of a bit of his chakra which enough force to fracture the ribs of his brother with a direct hit. Though, since he purposely missed in order to release a shockwave, this wave of energy will send Bōfū flying from his feet and crashing straight into the side of a boulder and becoming imbedded within its center, meaning he will have to dig his way from the boulder's core. Added with the stance and position his younger brother took, the shockwave will cause Bōfū to take on a uncontrollable spinning motion as if he's doing mid-air cartwheels at high speed. During hi's brother's flight, Kyo used the strength in his legs to speed towards his brother and only being more than half the way there by the time Bōfū crashed into the boulder.
Kyo: You should know by now that attacks like that won't work against me, not at your level. It's a reason im the tank out of the 3 of us. If this was a fight to the death, you'd be dead already. If you know someone is stronger, don't try and counter it because that may be the last thing you ever try. I won't be telling you how to fight against me, that's something you'll need to figure out on your own. Treat this fight like you would a real battle.

Saying these words during his chase after the youngest brother and only giving him about a second and a quarter to break free from the boulder and prepare himself for the incoming assault from his brother. Should Bōfū not be able to break from the boulder, he will be hit with a full force spear as Kyo will jump straight through the boulder resulting in the structure breaking from the collision and causing Bōfū to lose his breath from the impact as they collided and rolled across the ground while the middle brother position himself behind Bōfū but in a way where his next attack will be easy to transition into. During this time, Kyo never loses his grip on his brother and lifts him into the air in a power bomb like manner just to slam his back into the ground beneath them. The force prevented the youngest brother from regaining any air as well as disorienting him for a moment allowing Kyo to walk backwards and gain some distance.
Kyo: Get back up, on your feet. If your body hurt shake it off, if you feel dizzy fix it. Show us you're more than just the runt, GIVE ME A REASON TO FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE YOU AS MY YOUNGER BROTHER! COME AT ME WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT!

Even though he had indeed been sent flying into a boulder and was definitely feeling the blow, Bōfū was not unprepared or defenseless against the spear tackle that Kyo was now coming at him with while he spoke. In fact, Bōfū had been subjected to far worse - the scars on his body from that incident seven years ago from wounds that should have killed him said as much - so he was able to easily climb out of the boulder while also channeling chakra into his synapsis, hands, and feet, making himself a bit faster while simultaneously bumping his strength up a notch. This was how Bōfū would be able to enter his stance in time to pull his left fist as far back as he could before twisting his body and launching it at Kyo's liver. He had been reminded that Kyo was largely unaffected by strength lower than his durability, so Bōfū was charging his fist with even more chakra with the intention of releasing the entirety of the built-up power at the exact instant of contact. He also had every intention of using Kyo's momentum against him by doing this since it would put greatly amplify the effects of the blow as opposed to if Kyo had remained stationary, which would have forced Bōfū to build up momentum himself.

While channeling chakra to his synapsis did increase his speed and reflexes, he - and every other member of the Kengan clan - could not use chakra like true Shinobi and therefore were incapable of developing an elemental affinity. And without the ability to develop an elemental affinity, Bōfū couldn't use Lightning chakra. Without Lightning chakra, he couldn't use certain techniques despite still being able to somewhat apply the same principle even though he did not actually know about certain lightning-style techniques. Instead, he was also sending chakra to his hands and feet to increase their strength, which combined both effects play perfectly into the nature of his fighting style.

The strength behind Bōfū's punch would have enough power behind it by the time it reached the exact point of impact to either stop Kyo in his tracks, throw his spear tackle off-course while also putting him out of commission for several minutes, or somehow a combination of both. The difference in speed at that point was great enough that Kyo would simply be much too slow to react - by increasing his speed and reflexes in this manner, Bōfū suspected (but had no real guarantee) that he could even match Yatoru's base speed without any form of augmentation.

Taking advantage of this newfound speed, without waiting to see if his liver punch had the desired effect, Bōfū would then twist his body to the right with a right hook with his right fist pulled all the way back with his attempted liver punch, intended to be slammed into Kyo's left jaw. It was a common fact that you could train the skin, bones, and muscles to take such heavy blows, but the organs were an entirely different matter. As such, provided Bōfū's blows had the desired effect, the blow to the liver would put Kyo out of commission for several minutes. During this time, Bōfū would step back several meters to wait for Kyo to recover while taking a meditative position, closing his eyes while steadying his breathing, clearing his mind of all that ailed him. All without saying a word. No, they were beyond that point the moment Bōfū threw the first punch.

Kyo continued on his path towards his younger brother at his current speed level, and even though his brother escaped the boulder in time and got into his fighting stance, the only thing his counter managed to do was slightly slow Kyo down. However, even with him being slowed; Bōfū made the mistake of attacking him as if they were both on the same level when in fact that was not the case. While the younger brother had height and speed, the older one's height and weight gave him more agility by being smaller and with Bōfū trying to punch him while being in a spearing motion, his attack missed Kyo's head by an inch as the only action he needed to do to avoid being struck by slightly lowering his head which will have also gave his spear more power. As such, his combination attack will have also succeeded which would have left Bōfū either heavily winded and struggling to get back on his feet depending on the way Bōfū prepared his body within those few moments, or the fight will have been over due to the amount of damage received, as his statement will have continued as such.

His observation of the way Bōfū was fighting allowed Kyo to make an assumption on his fighting style, the first assumption was that his brother needed more range in order to properly prepare and time the attacks as it didn't seem like Bōfū was good at combatting opponents that didn't let up and especially fighting smaller opponents. That was something he needed to get in check or fighting in the exams will prove difficult for him to breeze through. Added with the fact fighting someone who relies more strength and endurance will force him to fight at a distance, and should he face someone with both attributes with being smaller and lighter for more agility, while also combining strength and endurance like Kyo will prove more of a challenge as he is still fast but being smaller makes him appear to be much faster than he actually is.
Kyo: If you can't get up then admit defeat, this will not count as an actual loss since its only training. But, rather you're still ready to fight ot not, you need to work on fighting against smaller, stronger, and more balanced opponents. While i'm not as fast as you, i'm also not slow and with me being smaller and lighter my agility allows me to do more. You have to be prepared for all scenarios or the chuunin exams will not be an easy task for you. During our little session, I was able to come up with those assumptions. Do either of you disagree with me?

Even though Bōfū was indeed left winded and was struggling to get back up from the combo Kyo had inflicted upon him, the fact was that he was still getting up and his will to fight burned even stronger. He was already fully aware of his lack of experience against smaller opponents, which showed in his failed attempt to stop Kyo's charge just now. However, he was far from finished - allowing himself to steady his breathing again, Bōfū would close his eyes and activate their clan's bloodline. The sclera of his eyes would turn inky black in color, his iris turning blood-red though his eyes being closed did not emit the usual faint crimson glow - and they wouldn't until he opened his eyes again.

While he did this, Bōfū would remove the upper half of his clothes from his chest, allowing them to hang loosely around his waist to display the large and heavily disfiguring scars from certain past life-threatening wounds. This would also display the tattoos for his wins, and the scars for his losses. What happened next was Bōfū stepping out of his sandals, before finally activating his Ukaku while fully hardening them - each wing having a full span of nine feet in their solid, angel-like state. Only then would he open his eyes, at which point he would flap his wings exactly once to become airborne, hovering 30 feet in the air above Kyo and floating backwards until there was 30 feet between length-wise as well - only then would he respond to the second-eldest sibling.

"You wanted me to treat this as if it were a real fight with my life on the line, right? Then by definition, that would mean using our bloodlines as well. And between the two of us... Well..."

Whatever else Bōfū had intended to say was left unsaid, opting to use actions rather than his words. In the next instant, Bōfū would raise his arms before bringing them down in an outstretched manner so that he was aiming at Kyo's exact position, while simultaneously enhancing the near-innumerable number of shards he would then immediately rain down at him with Pyrokinesis and Electrokinesis via heating up the cells and adding neurological electrons respectively. The shards themselves were not only heated up for greater piercing power, but they were also rigged to detonate on contact with whatever they touched.

Even if Kyo dodged the shards themselves, he was still at risk of suffering shrapnel damage due to the pieces being superheated along with having the force of a detonation behind them. However, each detonation also had the effect of releasing an electromagnetic field filled with enough electricity to stun and/or outright electrocute anyone and anything within its range. The shards also had electricity flowing between all of them due to how much he was putting into it, and were made even faster due to having such a great electrical charge in them. It should also be noted that Bōfū wasn't aiming them at just Kyo, but the twenty feet diameter around him as well - and Bōfū was making sure that the greatest amount of distance between any two shards was twelve inches.

Having finally arrived at the training field, his cold blue eyes slowly gaze up towards the battle; Witnessing Bofu receiving a combo from Kyo, before opting to utilize the Clans Kekkei Genkai, the Blood of the Demon as Bofu would be the first to reveal the long hidden ability of the Kengan Clan, the Ukaku or Wings of the Demon are that, a fluid like collection of cells that can harden and be released as projectile weapons; and to have come and watched such an act against the middle brother, Yatoru slowly crossed his arms, watching as the rain fell violently, The Shards of the Crystalized Cells from the Ukaku that rained down with the water droplets, slamming against the ground erupting into flames as the Cells that had been super heated finally reached self destruction. Watching the rapid fall of destruction from the Kengan Clan's Kekkei Genkai, Yatoru only then let out a sigh; utilizing his speed, and Reflexes, Yatoru avoided each shard that strayed away, his footwork like a dance as he avoided even the explosive force behind each shard that strayed away from Kyo's location. His movements precise and agile, almost fluid in nature as Yatoru seemed to show a lack of emotions; or rather interest.

As he watched the struggle from Bōfū to stand back on his feet, he had more than enough time to go on the attack but he instead allowed his brother to get back up and prepare his own move. Once he saw the wings of Ukaku, he knew from this point on that he was going to be in the dark about the abilities; Even with that knowledge, that fact didn't worry him in the slightest, it instead piqued his interest. While it was quite foolish to activate that state this early on in their battle, his younger brother must not have saw any other way to outmatch him. However, it was good to know that Bōfū was now taking this fight seriously and using his full arsenal to defeat him. For that reason alone, this caused Kyo to give a smirk towards his youngest sibling and opened his arms as he began throwing out the shards, welcoming the attack head on. It was as if he wanted to see just how much damage his brother was going to do, but again this was a serious training session and with no idea how he would be effected by the attack; The smarter thing to do was either evade or counter.

As such, during the onslaught of shards raining down at Kyo; He proceeded to blitz Bōfū while elegantly spinning around and flipping over each shard while using his nunchaku around his neck to bat away the shards back towards Bōfū as well as in random directions away from him as he closed in. Those shards hit with the right stick eliminated any aspects of the shards that may have been empowered by chakra while those hit by the left stick will store up more Kinetic energy within it than he already had thanks to the previous fight he had been in before. However... After the first few strikes to a shards with the left nunchaku stick released a kinetic blast so powerful it will have sent all the shards from his brother's Ukaku launching right back at him with double the speed and power and unless he wanted to take the damage from his own technique then he'd have no choice but to keep them from detonating in the fashion he originally had planned or else he'd be taking damage from the very effects that were meant for Kyo. With that, Kyo will use his physical strength once more empowered by his muscles to jet around in a zig zag like motions to bounce off of boulders, and other structures to the point his physical form seemed to vanish, which mean his movements could no longer be followed by the eyes and even if one could sense his fighting spirit, it will seem as if he's approaching from all directions. Though, as he closed in on Bōfū, Kyo will finally finalize his attack with on last push off of a structure with the same speeds just for it to seem as if he was moving as fast as Yatoru's base speed and appeared right above Bōfū with a double axe slam the upper back of his younger brother but at an angle that wills end waves of shock throughout his entire body and crashing down into the ground.

axe slam.gif

Though, the axe handle was very different and the muscles in his arms loosened up just before the final launch, and the flip to complete the axe slam only empowered the attack more. As such, once the connection was made, an extremely loud smacking sound echoed through the training grounds. An attack that was potent enough to even cause their father to feel an intense amount of pain, so potent that Bōfū will definitely be invited to the most amount of physical pain he'll ever feel in his life. This attack was also not only empowered by Kyo's base physical strength, but the boosted strength from the speed he had underwent which was thanks to a technique only taught to him by their father which also boosted his strength on top of his other physical abilities. As such, once Kyo landed back on the ground, a portion of Bōfū's skin will be missing from the attack as blood oozed form his back and down Kyo's arm from the skin he had just ripped off of his youngest brother. Now with him standing still, it was revealed that Kyo's kimono had fallen off at some point during his speeding onslaught and his shirt had ripped apart; Revealing a sinister form on his back which resembled the face of a demon which was how he achieved such great feats without the need to use their clan's KKG. It was here, where Kyo threw the skin of his brother back at him as he layed on the ground.
Kyo: You're done, while you may have lost the battle. You showed me that you're serious about getting stronger, and for that... Bōfū. You've earned my respect.

Even though Bōfū had been able to keep the shards sent back towards him from detonating while also using his wings to defend himself by wrapping them around his body, this had unfortunately left him unable to defend himself from getting hit hit by the full force of Kyo's attack. This resulted in Bōfū being sent plummeting towards the ground, feeling every bit of the pain from having a portion of his skin torn off of his back, but he still wasn't out of the fight - the pain he felt was nothing like that day when he'd nearly died at the hands of several of the more extremist clansmen simply for being the runt. However, that was not to say he was unaffected - the wound would definitely be an addition to his scars obtained during battle, and the pain was not nothing. He was hurting, but not so much that he couldn't still fight. While not the most ideal thing, the rain was the only immediately available replacement for first-aid in terms of cleaning the wound and washing the blood off his skin. While it also stung, the pain reminded him that he was still alive, was still conscious, and could still fight. The pain was also not so great that he was unable to retain his focus, and was thus able to use his wings to right himself with a single flap while also allow himself to land on his feet. Bōfū also used that same motion to release a shockwave from his wings to slow his descent.

In the same motion that Kyo moved to throw the skin torn off of him back towards him, Bōfū would supercharge his wings with Electrokinesis, and once again fire an innumerable number of shards at Kyo - far too many to count - while rapidly flapping his wings in his opponent's direction. Bōfū was doing this to produce powerful shockwaves that increased the speed and piercing power behind the shards themselves, all of which were already even faster than normally due to being supercharged with neurological electrons. This had the effect of increasing the vibrations in each crystalized cell that make up the shards' composition, thereby decreasing wind resistance or removing it entirely. These shards were aimed at Kyo's arms and legs and the area around them, fully intending to immobilize him while making sure the shards did not hit any important arteries or anything that would result in him being unable to attend the Chuunin exams if they even hit at all. The reason for Bōfū doing this is because he instinctually knew he needed to end the fight fast.

"You can give up on me giving up, Kyo! That last attack of yours actually hurt, but it does not compare to having the body so heavily scarred - nearly cut to ribbons - to the point of damn nearly dying! You can crush my bones to paste, sever my limbs, destroy my organs, and even kill me, but you can bet your ass I'll crawl my way out of hell even if I have to fight the Devil himself!"

Kyo Kengan2.png

Kyo was sure the match was over, that was... until his brother somehow managed to get back up on his feet. This shocked Kyo as an attack such as that being enough to even cause their father to stand motionless in an unfathomable amount of pain which his endurance, seeing Bōfū get back up from it definitely had to be because of his willpower, other than that this fight would have ended the moment he hit the ground. Maybe he didn't put enough power behind it, or maybe the wings he possessed took most of the impact? Either way, the fight was surely about to reach it's climax. Considering the fact that he just experienced the power of the projectiles being shot from his wings even though they didn't directly hit him was enough to know that they were indeed going to be troublesome. As such, Kyo moved with such speed and elegance at maximum speed, blitzing his brother once more but this time he didn't even allow his brother to finish charging his wings; Ultimately resulting in Kyo ripping the Ukaku Kagune straight from his brothers back and biting into one of them midair before it dispersed by the time he landed on the ground. Now that the annoyance was over, it was time to finish the battle.

Waisting no time, the middle child spun around maintaining the same speed as he closed the distance, delivering more strikes of the same calibur as before. His arms moving like whips at such speeds that appear as if he had no arms, each connection from his Senpūken took off more skin, targetting his back once more, his arms, legs, torso, neck, and face. Since Bōfū managed to stand back up from one, it was time to see how he managed to handle more than 30 with some hitting the exact same spots more than once or twice which only added even more damage and intensifying the pain to unimaginable heights. Enough to make even the strong drop and cry in pain; Though upon the last strike, this was more as joking move as he spun around his youngest brother and delivered one more painful strike straight to his ass as if he were giving a spanking to a child. Not only will this have the same effect as the rest, but it's power will send Bōfū flying into the air a few feet before landing back on the ground. During his brother's flight, Kyo could feel the effects of the move starting to come into effect, and while he could still move it did indeed begin to hurt. He didn't realize the technique had a time limit, but now that he figured it out; Kyo knew he had to end the fight quickly and take one of their tablets. The only reason he didn't take one is for the simple fact he needed to know it's effects and determine how useful it'd be in a real battle in case he doesn't have access to any of his tablets.
Kyo: Shit! I'm going to need them soon.

Were the only words he thought to himself.

Even though the youngest Kengen of the trio was notified by his Tranquil Dowsing of what his opponent was about to do and how, it had not been enough to save his Ukaku from getting ripped off of his back or allow him to be fast enough to avid getting hit by Kyo's brutal assault. By the time it was over, it was only thanks to his reflexes and rapidly developing battle instincts that he was able to land on his feet. However, his back, parts of his arms and legs, as well as one side of his ass had been turned into a raw, bloody mess. The cold rain was helping to turn the agonizing pain into a dull ache, which was the only thing keeping him from getting teary-eyed or doing more than visibly clenching his fists and teeth in obviously immense physical pain. The more pain he experienced on this level, the more he remembered of that day - and it only made his desire to push through the pain and keep fighting burn that much more. He could not allow himself to show any sign of weakness anymore - especially not in the presence of someone as mighty as Kyo. He would not be weak. Never again would he allow himself to suffer so at the hands of those around him - no matter who they were.

Taking deep breaths to regain his concentration and return his focus to the fight and thus take it off the pain he was feeling, Bōfū would jump back to put several more feet between him and Kyo. While doing so, he could feel his Tranquil Dowsing reacting more strongly to Kyo, which could only mean one thing, which only bolstered Bōfū's resolve and desire to win. Unfortunately, taking all those hits had significantly drained his own stamina, which meant that it was extremely likely at this point whoever won this fight would come down to whose desire to win was simply that much greater - Bōfū, for one, had had enough of being unable to win against even one of his own brothers. So he calmed himself even further, closing his eyes and allowing himself to meditate while once again assuming his martial arts stance. He also opted to test something out, turning the half of his focus that wasn't on the fight onto the area he had just had his wings ripped out of. He could still feel their clan's Kekkei-Genkai was activated, otherwise he wouldn't be going to such lengths to prepare himself to continue most likely receiving the same treatment, which meant he could still use his Ukaku. The next moment, as if being summoned forth by his inner musings, he could feel a now-familiar weight on his back: Opening his eyes and looking back for but the briefest of instants, Bōfū allowed himself to give Kyo a menacing grin - he had his Ukaku back.

"You know... This is the second time you've delivered such a powerful attack - or thirty-second if you want to get technical while also counting ripping my wings off, but you still have yet to make me stay down. I meant what I said: You can give up on making me give up. If you want to beat me, you'll have to try much harder than that."

It was true: The only reason Bōfū had survived that night seven years ago was out of sheer stubbornness and more willpower than he knew what to do with. After all, despite the immense pain he was in, he was still standing and able to continue. That simply would not have happened seven years ago - he would have succumbed properly from the sheer intensity of his wounds alone. There simply wasn't much that could match being put into such a condition that if he hadn't had such an immense fighting spirit, or if it had been any lower than it had been at the time, he would not be standing here today in the present.

Bōfū would make no move to attack or attempt any defensive measures, knowing fully well at this point in time how the rest of the match was going to play out thanks to the full effects of his Tranquil Dowsing.

As the Training battle continued, there was a couple things Yatoru kept in mind as he watched the two siblings duke it out; having caught wind of Kyo's special Martial Arts technique that amplified his abilities, Yatoru began taking mental notes of the utilization, body composition and flow of fighting spirit. These factors allowing Yatoru to mentally invision and replicate this technique though without needing to utilize it in person just yet, as he had not known of the draw back just yet, this would be a factor he'd need to take in also. Nonetheless, As Yatoru observed, the seriousness between the two younger siblings, he slowly moved towards a tree, leaning against it shielding himself from the downpour. This battle not only would give Bofu the needed increase in battle experience, but fill Yatoru with needed Information and implications of utilization of the Kekkei Genkai displayed by Bofu, the flow of their cells, how it can fluctuate and reform even after being torn apart; this information was indeed quite educational for the eldest sibling.
