Shippo MIndshaft
(尻尾鋪, "Shippo Shiki", Lit: "Animal Tail Mineshaft")

From a time where the mining industry was once prominent in the Land of Palm Trees, Shippo Mineshaft was carved out of a mountain to the easter coast of the land. For years it was a steady capital for a lot of mining activities, a place where some sort of precious gem, stone, or crystal was bound to show up. However, it didn't stay that way for long. The mineshaft became populated by ravenous and savage creatures, creatures some don't even believe in, not a single person surviving an encounter. They took root in the dark and carved out mineshaft, setting up their dwellings, laying claim to the space, and forcing those who used it to flee. Now, the mineshaft is a dark and desolate cave. Upon entering it you breathe in the stiff wet air, a layer of water is always glossed up and down the cave walls. As you venture forth it begins to break into many empty tunnels, most of which stand caved in and blocked off. The roof of the cavern is barely stable, leaking small streams of light through the broken and excavated rock. Should you make it deep enough to reach the main shaft, you'll no doubt make contacts to the legendary and mysterious monsters said to inhabit it.

"Looks like there's no going back now."

Samiya made her way back to the carriage, ripping a piece of fabric from the over carriage and picking up various pieces of raw meat and wrapping it up. She planned to use it almost like one would use an air freshener, but clearly the opposite effect. It was shown prior to deter the Wendigo's nose, so why wouldn't it still do the same? She slung it over her shoulder and took a deep breath, pushing the putrid scent to the back of her mind. She walked up next to Hino just before he made his way into the cave. However, with each growing step, her presence grew more silent. She was spreading chakra throughout her body, from her feet to her throat, she dispersed her chakra out and around her body, using her control over sound to make any noise her body would naturally produce absolutely undetectable.

She reached out to Hino, placing her hand on his shoulder, and just as she did to herself, she spread her chakra out and around his body, the sound of each of his steps fading away until it was nothing but shallow movements, soundless and undetectable. She closed her eyes and cupped her hand around her left ear, in such a dark setting, sight was useless, she had to rely on sound to traverse the cavern for the both of them. She had been studying the sounds of the cave and referencing them to the small amount of the cave she saw prior, relating each sound to a specific area in the cave and creating a map in her mind.

As they continued through the disgusting den of the Wendigo, a small light flickered into view. It instantly caught her eye, there was no way to miss it, a single flickered in the deep black expanse that was the mineshaft. Behind that light was none other than the man she'd seen before, crouched down in a cage. The more she looked at him the less human he appeared to her and his voice didn't change that.

"..."

Samiya fell silent as the man pleaded for his release. She couldn't help but be reminded of the rats from prior, the way he was in a way becoming what surrounded him, turning into a Wendigo. His eyes were getting milky, his voice like a soft growl, and his demeanor was animalistic. However, his voice wasn't low for long, soon enough he began to scream. Suddenly, the sound of beasts running through the mine began to reverberate through Samiya's ears. In an instant nearly every Wendigo it would seem had rushed over to his cage, shaking it violently almost as if to rip him from the cage, devouring him with their eyes, they moved as if they had every intention of ripping him to shreds.

Samiya took a deep gulp, the sight of each and every Wendigo in a literal blind rage was enough to cause her heart to race, though luckily only she could hear it. She once again found herself conflicted, somehow she felt as if saving that man could somehow redeem herself for letting Bellion die and leaving his children fatherless. However, she had to prioritize her mission at this point and who knows what could happen if she tried to save that man. She had to press on under the assumption that he'd been fine long enough and he'd be fine going forward, it was the best decision, but that didn't stop it from weighing on her hard.

She held her hand out and pointed towards the pedestal the scroll stood upon, tugging upon Hino's shoulder a bit, almost as if to show him the way and ignore the caged man.

Hino wasnt sure what to do because the smell was burning itself so deeply into his nose that it was having the same effect as smelling salts at this point. No longer able to take the smell his nose simply stopped smelling it as his body was starting to get used to it. Which was a bad feeling in and of itself. He wasnt sure his nose will be the same after this because no smell stronger than this would register in his mind for quite some time. His ability to track via smell would suffer and his ability to call himself a sensory ninja would plummet to absolutely nothing. Though he didnt have much time to dread this fact since he was starting to hear something that was coming from a different part of the cave. It was a man in a cage and he was asking the two genin for help. Hino was dreading once more upon the fact of meeting this man that Samiya would want to help him just like she wanted to help the rats. Looking back at her as best as he could he could see that the man had caught her attention as well and he was already afraid that she would want to help him out of the cage.

Though he knew better, he knew that they couldnt help this man because it would just make their mission that much longer and he didnt know how long this man had been in the cage. He must have been in here so long that he had no chance of defending himself completely if he was actually pet out of the cage. Though from what he could see in this dim light he could tell by the look of his face that he was too far gone. Though before he could say that they should turn and keep going Samiya was already twisting him away and towards something else. He was sorta relieved to see that she wasnt a bleeding heart that wanted to save every little thing. Though that was before he saw what she was turning him towards.

It looked like a scroll from this distance but he couldnt be sure it was THE scroll that they were looking for. Though he had no choice but to believe it was. He walked away from the man that was suddenly getting loud and attracting the sounds of all the creatures in the cave. This caused Hino to hold his breath as he walked past the creatures with Samiya right behind him. Though he noticed once again something that took him longer than it should have. Ever since Samiya had put her hand on his shoulder his movements has made absolutely little to no sounds at all. It was pretty amazing and was surely why they were no longer within the site of these blinded creatures.

He motioned so that she could see it that all they needed to do was get closer as he activated his Suikogan. He didnt know how to tell her that he needed to get within fifty feet of it before he could get it and they could get out. And he wasnt able to tell whether he was fifty feet from it or not. Though what he was able to tell was how many creatures was around them based off of all the moving water that was them and he felt the color drain from his face for the first time.

The guardian of the scrolls

The mine shaft seemed to have grown quiet.. not even the droplets of water continued their decent.. it wasn't until the pure moment of silence that the ground would gently rumble, the moment the rumbling began.. all the Wendigo began to flee for their lives.. what manner of creature or thing would cause the Wendigo to retreat, every Wendigo ran toward the holes surrounding the mine shaft, in the ground, the walls, even going as far as to run toward the direction of Samiya and Hino and should they be standing still, push them aside, they was truely scared for their lives, the sounds of their pitter patter paling in comparison to the ever growing quakes the ground felt.

Should Hino and Samiya notice, the walls of the mine shaft began to shine with an ancient ruinic symbol, the head of a dear, the body of an ape, the legs of a kangaroo, the symbol would indeed depict it as perhaps the King of the Wendigos. The creature depected in the symbol would indeed be holding a scroll, should they notice this it would have been noted that two scrolls are within the Mine Shaft, but what did it mean? why was there two. Should they look further along the wall they wouldn't fail to notice the two follower symbols, that of an ancient Hydra symbol, followed by a third symbol that depicted a very unique glow to it followed with the codex inscribed benith it "Wisdom and Knowledge is given to no man until he asks for it"

The Two Ninja of the shinobi world would have to pass a challenge set before them, but what is it? how could they tell with the information given to them above, or perhaps this was just clarifying that there are indeed, two scrolls within the mine shaft, one for the each of them to return to their village should they pass this "test"

The gentle and mild quakes became more intense and with enough force to even cause them to loose their footing, untill from the very depths of the shaft, a light began to appear, followed by the ghastly shadow of what was indeed depicted on the ruins inscribed in the walls,.. however there was indeed another ruinic symbol, hidden beneath the dust, gushes of blood from the wendigos meals and residue moss. its symbol would be impossible to discover, however its text remains and inscribed as followed.

"Do not take, what you do not own, for if you take, your life will be forfited"

The scroll on the pedestal was indeed real, it did have one thing noticeable should their eyesight allow. Along the bottom of the scroll was the symbol of the hydra, identical to the one on the wall. That was indeed one of the scrolls, but the other..?


The creature walked, stomping its way forward till the shape of the creature was shown to the Ninja of the shinobi world, the creature would snarl and screech, the screech would rattle the very mine shaft all the way to the very depths of the Shaft, in its right hand, a golden chain linked down to a cauldron it dragged behind it that was on fire, in its left hand a pure white Wendigo, struggling with all its might, attempting to claw the creatures hand.. the creature would bite down on the head

the creatures mouth sounded like a trap jaw, the snap echoed throughout the shaft, the wendigo now headless, blood gushing from its once distinguishable neck the creature had began to chew, the sound of crunching and snapping filled the shaft, it wasn't then until it had noticed the two ninja of the shinobi world, it's eyes turning from a dark red, to a more mild yellow.

"Come to steal my scroll.. have we? no matter.. I won't allow you to.."

the creature's voice was deep, demonic and held a small hint of humanity to it.. could this be where the 2nd scroll is? inside the once known stupid beast now given intelligence?

the creature stomped, walking forward, it looked slow..

the creature stood in front of the identified Hydra scroll and would throw the Wendigo's corpse toward them, indeed it did miss however it was thrown with such velocity that the body had exploded on impact to the wall into tiny, pieces of a once known Wendigo. The creature let out a mighty roar that would tear even the mineshaft a sunder, the very rocky unstable walls once more shaking and rattling to the mighty roar of this beast, the creature had no intention of letting them escape, nor allowing them to take the scroll.

Should they have inspected the creature, they would find that the scroll with "intelligence and wisdom" lays lodged in the very head of the Creature, stuck at about 75% inside. The very residue of this scroll passed knowledge and wisdom to this beast that it gained the ability to speak, understand and even formulate strategy's, the children of the shinobi world need to be careful, for their mission had now reached that of an S rank mission.

 

[Tsukuyomi]

Samiya stood before the two scrolls that would finally put an end to this mission, an end to this dreadful chapter in her life and a breath of fresh air for her and her village. Not only would it be an end, but a beginning, in more ways than one. However, just as she stood before salvation, her ears picked up on something, or well, it was quite the opposite. Her ears had picked up on absolutely nothing, not a drop of water, not a pebble rolling across the ground, not even the wendigo's various noises were audible. To some, this would seem normal in such a dark place, but Samiya knew better than to write this off. She had never been in a state of complete silence, at least not since she was a small child. Even in the latest hours of night, a sound could be heard, no matter how minutes, but there was nothing, not for miles.

"Something's not right"

Just as her lips moved and not a sound left them, the ground began to rumble. It sounded almost like the pandemonium back in Ji City, the sound of hundreds of steps running for cover and safety, and in a way, this was just the same. Each and every wendigo took off deeper into the mineshaft, some running past her, around her and some even into her. Her mind was thrown into disarray, she didn't know how to react, but before she could conjure up a plan to get out of danger, she saw there was none, to begin with. The wendigo moved around and past her like she was nothing, almost like there was something that drove their stampeding more than the meal they loved the most.

What kind of starving man-eating creature runs past a delicacy such as a human themselves? What could make such ravenous creatures turn tail and run so fast and with such terror, even with the numbers they possessed? The answer to that question was more worrying than anything she had faced prior, as the only thing that could scare away the wendigo was something comparable to hundreds of them. As the last of the wendigo began to clear out of the mineshaft, she noticed the walls beginning to shift around them. Just as the walls moved, they began to glow, intricate and ethereal symbols appearing on along the walls.

She backed up closer to Hino, closing any gap between the both of them as she analyzed the depictions on the mineshaft walls. "Wisdom and Knowledge is given to no man until he asks for it" Inscribed on the wall was a short riddle-like message, she didn't only notice that however. As she looked deeper, the appearance of two scrolls caught her eyes. Could it be that there was more than one? Before she could decipher any further, the ground began to shake relentlessly, another message appearing on the ground, but that was the least of her worries.

A large shadow appeared before her, one that dwarfed not only them but any wendigo she had seen prior. The dark silhouette made them look like dust and the wendigo look almost like ants. As it came into what little light was now in the cavern, what would be revealed was a hideous sight. An enormous wendigo made it's way into her sights, holding a pure white one in its hands almost as if it was a doll to be toyed with. As her eyes widened she took in every piece of his form, from his ravenous posture to his deep red eyes, another factor to this large creature that baffled her. His eyes were not milky white as the creature he held in his grasp. No, there was no doubt in her mind, this creature could see.

The sound of him sinking his teeth into his prey sent a chill down her spine, the bear trap like chomp reminded her of the spear that pierced through Bellion's skull, it was almost as though this sound was prophesizing death, leaving her feeling a sense of foreboding energy. Just then, the creature met eyes with her, its gaze turning to a muted yellow shade. She could feel his strength, his savagery, his hunger. As the creature spoke the mineshaft shook and trembled like even the walls that surrounded him were scared of his presence. As he proclaimed his stance on the scroll, she notices said scroll lodged in his head as he sluggishly walked before them.

Samiya ducked as the headless wendigo soared over their heads and was blown to bits under the force of its ascent, leaving blood splattered across the ground aimlessly to be mixed with the residual waste left behind by the wendigo. As the beast roared, the mineshaft was torn to bits, the walls crumbling around them. Samiya gazed around her, her eyes trailing as far back as the broken carriage they arrived in. As she looked back, the same beam of sunlight that had held the wendigo at bay grew wider, allowing more light to bleed in and triggering a metaphorical lightbulb in her mind.

Despite the beast she was faced with, as a shinobi, it was her duty to formulate a plan to complete the mission, no matter the difficulty. In her mind, it was prevail or die trying. She knew she was at a disadvantage, especially now that this creature had both sight and intelligence which she could only assume was from the scroll lodged in it's forehead. However, if she could somehow flood the mineshaft with the sunlight, along with a well-placed scream could leave her with enough time to somehow get the scroll from its head and the pedestal. Seeing as this was the only plan she had to put all her stakes into, she had to go with it and fast

"Hino, I saw how fast you were in that short battle back in the forest. If I can keep the beast at bay, do you think you can move fast enough to grab both scrolls?"

Samiya released the jutsu she had keeping the sound she emitted at bay, allowing her message to reach Hino with no problem as she backed up deeper into the cave to create distance between them and the beast. If her hunch was right, Hino possessed some sort of jutsu or ability that allowed him to move at speeds unimaginable and she could use that to her advantage if the beast were to be caught off guard. This was the final stretch, there was no time to falter, only time for action.

Sayū had assumed that the day would go about leisurely, just like he had assumed that he’d be able to leave the Southern Gates without being interrupted. Assumptions. The downfall of relationships. At the thought, it prompted him to remember that he had forgotten to inform his fiancé, Hinome, that he was going to be leaving, something he would hear an earful of no doubt. The moment the thought transpired, children ran in front of him prompting him to stop and watch them run by, too far infatuated with the game they were playing to notice the Hyūga walking by. One of the children stood out and it even made him debate the thought of whether it was time he had a kid or not. But that idea was immediately outstripped as he remembered the lack of time he had to properly raise a child. The responsibilities of the clan, responsibilities of being a Land of Fire shinobi. It was demanding and it wasn’t for everyone. It made it even more difficult for him as he wasn’t someone that understood emotion that well. He was for the people, by the people, but his cold demeanor didn’t allow for such. You know who was? Hinome. Without many seconds though, he once again began moving forward toward the Southern Gates.

Just as he was about to reach the Southern Gates, the information had been exchanged between Sayū Hyūga, Team Sayū, which consisted of Yua Fujibayashi and Himeko Hyūga, and the third party was the Hokage, Mowa Sōzō. The message had a sense of urgency behind it as their arrival would have a great influence upon the survival of the young Akanohi and Samiya. The participants already there had already been notified they were arriving. Just before he had been transported, the man would’ve done two things. One, left a Flying Thunder God seal etched deep into the ground he was standing upon. And two activated his signature technique that would erase his spiritual and physical presence completely. For all intent and purposes, his soul or spiritual energy could not be sensed and he couldn’t be sensed by any of the other senses other than sight. A second before transportation, he remembered he had forgotten one of his students, Kabuki Noh. The thought of Kabuki realizing this would give Sayū a minor migraine above his right eye. “Oh god,” he thought to himself and in that same moment, he had been teleported to the children's’ location.

Their arrival, whoever joined, of course, would be quiet and without sound. Their presence was also masked just like him. Sayū clearly felt the wet, gushy floor alongside the terrible stench that occupied these ruins. At the point of their arrival, the young kunoichi would be moving backward, deeper into the cave in hopes of creating distance. Or so he assumed. Alongside her, Akanohi, just as the Hokage had informed him. Much to their surprise, and even surprising the Wendigo, had it not taken the correct procedures to identify their arrival, a powerful gust of wind tunneled through the cave behind them focussed toward the beast they were in combat against, focussed specifically toward the scrolls logged within the beast. This technique was known as Heavenly Burst (天の劈, “Ammenoheki”) and it focussed a piercing blast of chakra toward whatever the user wished to attack. This technique was so powerful and condensed, that it would take the scrolls right out of the beast’s body with ease. However, there weren’t only two bursts, but multiple and with the same intent and power. Had the beast not correctly dodged, it’d be piercing into pieces.

Whether this was not successful or not, Team Sayū would step out from the shadows of the cave behind Samiya and Hino. A clear look of disgust present upon the Hyūga’s face alongside veins around the eyes swelling from the increased flow of chakra, signifying that his Byakugan was already active. He glanced down toward the two and then at the wet, gushy ground speaking up for the first time since arrival. “Absolutely. Disgusting.” Was the attack successful in dismembered the beast, he'd talk again, but this time at the two children that were already present. "Well, get what you came for and huddle up. I don't want to be standing in this disgusting goo forever." He absolutely abhorred disgusting and grotesque areas and locations, especially this one, so his tone may have sounded harsh, but it was from a good place. For all of them. However, were his attack not successful, he'd simply wait and observe the beast and wait for any pertinent information the two that were here had.

 

[Jeriah]

"Performance? Of course not! This is a display of my inner feelings!"

Clouds of smoke seemed to cover the space. Where was he? Kabuki had only just put on his coat when he received a summons! He figured that if it was going to snow he'd best go home and grab a hat when his mother forced him to put on his winter jacket with white fur around it. Most shinobi were trained to regulate their body temperature but an extra layer couldn't hurt. So, at any rate, there he was placing his last arm into his coat when he was instantly drawn away!

"WHOA!! WHAT'S GOING ON!"

Hunching his upper body down slightly and spreading his legs apart a few feet, Kabuki looked around. Even he as a genin could feel the animosity and bloodlust in the air. From his point behind Sayu the young man could see that his entire squad was there. Immediately his impressive analytical skill came into place; eyes darted from left to right. He noticed Samiya and Hino there. "A joint mission?" They were scratched up a bit and seemed to be tried. "Looks like we're back up then."



It didn't take long for Kabuki's bottom lip to pucker out in distaste. "Don't tell me... YOU ALL FORGOT ME AGAIN!!!" said Kabuki as he stomped his right foot on the ground. Given a few seconds to sulk he would jump back into attention. After the Chunin Exams he had better learned to deal with his fear, especially after he almost yet Yua down... not to mention the incident with the car and Suhaku. At any rate, Kabuki looked over to Hino.


"Hino! Where's Suhaku and Rika?" he'd say, approaching the young man.

 

[Hydra]

Hino was almost about to fly into combat mode. His body drawing closer to the ground with his arms being out at his side. He was glaring around at the wendigo that were rushing towards them both and was about to get his shifts ready to go before they started to rush past. They were not even subtle about it either. Bumping against them and almost knocking him to the ground if he wasnt already lowering his center of gravity. They seemed to scatter in all directions, some rushing past them while some ran into different holes in the walls that they hadnt seen when they came in. He would have to keep a note that these holes were filled with wendigo on their way out.

”Well that isnt concerning at all. Now where do you think over one hundred bloothirsty man eaters would run away from?”

It was then that he noticed that whatever Samiya had done it was silencing not only their footsteps but also their voices. He tried his best to get the words out but all that came out was air and moving lips. He looked at Samiya and looked around as if to ask her a question with his eyes before he was suddenly listening. The sound in the cave had dropped into nothingness. Complete and utter silence as he was now worried that something big and bad was coming their way. He had played enough games with Suhaku and Rika to know that when all the smaller mobs cleared out it was when the boss was coming.

Hino was looking forward when the beast showed up with wendigo in hand. That just made it that much worse since it showed up with something in it hand. It was big enough to carry the damn thing that was coming at them from earlier. He was silently hoping that it was still blind and would go after the man that was screaming in the cage back from before. Though from the way it just ate the head off of the one that was already in its hand and threw it right at them he wasnt sure that it was very blind or very caring what it ate. Hino foot slid back slowly before he heard what Samiya had said from beside him and clicked his tongue lightly.

”I Probably could get one of those but from what it just said touching them could be a big no no. And I am not looking forward to doing that JUST yet in life. I am too young to die and join my mom, dad and Suhaku.”

Though before Hino could get into action and think of a way to even start this raid boss battle off the scrolls went flying. Both the one in the beasts head as well as the one that was on the pedestal. This was a blessing but at the same time it blew them out of sight enough that Hino cursed in the back of his mind. Just not out loud. He dared to take his eyes off of the fight long enough to see what had caused this to see that there were people behind them. And one of those people was Kabuki, someone he hasnt seen since the chunin exams. Being amazed to see him in this time and place he didnt know what to say. He was then grounded when he asked what happened to both Suhaku and Rika. He Chewed on his tongue lightly as he looked at the beast ahead of them.

”Rika should be back at town waiting for us to get back. Hopefully he is doing something about the fire that Suhaku had caused in town. Suhaku…..” He couldnt bring himself to say it. Even remembering it was making him angry all over again and the anger was now being pushed towards this big beast. The anger seemed to almost literally steam off of his water body as he thought about it.

The guardian of the scrolls

The very cave trembled with each idle step the beast took, it swayed back and forth, it's fur very heavy and one could perceptivly see that it could be holding down its speed. The very shaft itself vibrated with each breath the beast took, the smell of rotten flesh, freshly paved wendigo blood and thick sticky excrement would fill the air further, with the beasts very own scent of "wet fur" moldy flesh, rotten teeth, decaying breath all filled the shaft quickly the longer the beast stood idle, the beast had looked down toward the two identified Ninja and simply snarled before it spoke..

"I've never tasted Human flesh before.."

As he spoke, he would have lounged himself toward the two, given the beasts size in comparison to the cave, it wouldn't be long before it would reach them, however given the beasts "home", keen sense of smell and perceptive gaze, it would be clear to him that other intruders would have infiltrated his home its very own movements came to a stop, the moment its fur began to "shift" due to the pure pressure of an unknown "thing" it would have simply ducked down completely, gut to the floor, chin touching the ground, watching as what he could see was nothing but his fur still reacted accordingly to the pure force of such a technique, the reinforcements made their presence known, the beast slowly raised up, the sticky excrement sticking to its fur.

A elongated, sleurp echoed the entire shaft the sounds of excrement expanding and stretching into this beasts fur, he had spoke.

"Reinforcements.. eyh?.. interesting ability you used there.. i'll be sure to use it when I devour your corpse!"

The second half of his speech ending in a shout as he rushed toward the now identified third target, thanks to the scroll of knowledge lodged into its brain, it had gained a plethora of information, the very scroll began to act as a second brain with information inside of the scroll imprinted inside of his brain. Thanks to the half way lodged into its skull position it remains in.


The speed of the creature wasn't that of a jaguar in comparison, yet more so a rampaging Rhino. As it began to charge forward, the large antlers on its cranium were poised to puncture the very man. (Sayu) The beasts claws where too, posed to slam down into him, should he evade, his left hand poised and ready to strike should he dodge left and/or up, his right hand poised ready to strike if he dodged right and/or down leaving this man to deal with the rampaging "Rhino" that is himself, head on the very walls would tremble and the ground shook with each step the beast took, there for making any form of hand signs or concentrating techniques very hard to fully utilize in this scenario.

"I'll show you true elegance and grace of a kunoichi...~Crystal Princess

A sudden summoning given without warning had dragged the young kunoichi from the comfort and luxury of her own home, into what could have easily been mistaken as a marsh of decaying bodies from the smell of the location alone. The off-black sandals upon her feet sloshing in reaction to the unidentified wet substance that had been present on the floor beneath her. As disgusted and repulsing as it had been, this brought her comfort in knowing that the terrain was currently to her advantage if anything were to arise. A plumage of dust and debris filling the air causing somewhat of an obscurity of the location as a result of Sayu's expelled technique prior. Her sight momentarily limited before giving way quickly to reveal not only her jonin squad leader Sayu Hyuga, but also his closest friend Kabuki. Almost instinctively, the girl placed herself directly in front of the young boy as if preparing to protect him from any potential threats in the current environment. She had been all too well aware that despite his overall ability and intelligence, he had been prone to freezing up or becoming frightened should a circumstance be presented that was beyond his immediate control.

To be transported without warning in the middle of a strange land was the only thing she truly needed for her own self preservation to kick in. Why she was here had been nothing but a loss to her at the moment, something that could be inquired about later – or apparently would have to be. With full clearance of the dust which once filled the cavern, Yua's eyes fell a rather familiar face she had encountered during the chunin exams quite a while back – Hino, a close associate of Suhaku. The girl's mind wished to ponder as to why he was here, along with a young girl whom she never recalled laying eyes upon. Had this been an immediate last minute joint mission? The two shinobi had obviously been through the wringer, and their fatigue and scratched up visages had been more than enough to reveal this.

"Hino! Where's Suhaku and Rika?" A surprising interrogation from Kabuki, his voice hadn't been wavering despite the sudden appearance and forced change of location. Had he conquered his fight or flight panicked instincts? Yua had been intrigued by this, she couldn't help but be proud, yet she had been more interested in the answer to this question.

”Rika should be back at town waiting for us to get back.
Hopefully he is doing something about the fire that Suhaku had caused in town. Suhaku…..”

Yua's heart dropped at the news of what Suhaku had been accused of doing. "B-burning a tow-...Suhaku...no he would neve-" Before the girl could even get her words out or process the relay, she had been interrupted by the arising of a creature like she'd never seen before. Is this what her sensei had been attempting to fend off. The beast seemed to rise from the surface of the floor, dripping from the wet substance that cloaked the marsh like floor. Taking this into account she noticed that her sensei's attack hadn't been ineffective so to speak, but rather avoided. The fact that it was dodged showed that it held the capability of being damaged by it, as such the young girl immediately responded in accord with her limited knowledge about the situation.

Intently focusing on the rampaging beast ahead, the girl would attempt to utilize her kekkei genkai to began a complete crystallization process directly upon the body of the wet beast itself from head to toe, using the water and substance upon him as a medium. The durable crystalline structure merging with the wet land beneath it in an attempt to strengthen it's durability while serving to hinder it further, however slight it may be in order to provide a potential opening. The main issue presented to the beast would be the crystallization upon the upper body and head of it. Had the beast relied upon sight, smell, taste, or sound to navigate, it would likely have it's senses restricted. Should it fail to completely dismantle the the crystallizing formation in its entirety, it would find itself completely encased and at the mercy of the young kunoichi. However, doing this took far too much concentration, leaving the girl unable to move her own body should things go awry.

"Footsteps?!"

As she backed up deeper and deeper into the cave, she heard the sounds of footsteps rushing at her from the rear, almost as if from nowhere. It would seem as though Samiya and Hino were no longer alone in the presence of the beast. As she whipped her head back to identify just who it was, she was greeted by a powerful gust of wind, blowing her hair in all directions, blinding her for a short moment. As her hair settled she'd be greeted by two people she could only assume to be shinobi, one older male and a young child around her age. Was it possible they were there as reinforcements?

Samiya's hunch was proved right, they each seemed to share some sort of connection to Hino, instantly initiating conversation with her teammate. Unlike him, Samiya had no relation to the two shinobi, so it could only be concluded they were most likely from Konohagakure. She instantly stepped forward, almost as if to cut their conversation short for the sake of the mission at hand.

"Hello, my name is Samiya Kanari, I'm a genin and the leader of this joint mission. We don't have much time to talk, so I ask you to leave the questions till after and focus on the task at hand. I need you two to destroy the wall behind the entrance to the cave and flood it with as much sunlight as you can from outside. Hino, go for the scrolls the second an opening becomes available"

She spoke in a commanding tone, directing the attention of the pair to the cracked wall just to the end of the cave, leaking light from each and every small hole within it. As she filled them in on her plan, another girl made her way into the fray. She didn't have the time to continue explaining, she could only hope that she was listening and focus on her plan. The wendigo rampaged behind her, the gust of wind only keeping him at bay for a short moment as he charged forth, his horns bore forwards. She along with the other female genin both jumped forward.

Samiya watched as the girl coated the beast in crystals, taking note of the interesting technique and the girl's speed. Not only did they coat the beast but also the floor around it, creating multiple points for the light to reflect right back onto the beast, concentrating the sunlight on the wendigo. However, that wasn't the only component of her plan.

She began to gather chakra around her throat and mouth, quickly and finely concentrating a small amount into one place. She prepared to utilize a technique opposite to the one she used to get her and Hino so far into the cave, she now needed a sound loud enough to tear the ground asunder. She took a deep breath, her chest puffing up almost as if it was a balloon about to burst, and burst it did. She stepped forward and released a scream like no other, the sheer force of it shaking the ground beneath her. She concentrated all the sound into a single beam-like direction, not only making it so that her teammates were left relatively unaffected, but to concentrate more force on the wendigo.

To her teammates, the sound of her scream would be something like listening to someone speak through a microphone at a concert. However, to the wendigo, it would be many levels worse. Her scream was more than enough to shatter eardrums, it was loud enough that the waves and vibrations became visible, affecting even the air around it, taking on an almost accordion-like pattern. The wendigo would begin to feel severe pain as the sound waves reverberate through his body and treated to rip him to shreds and rupture his organs. The concentrated sound was enough to kill a normal man and as a wendigo, his sense of hearing would be amplified making the experience all that much worse.

With her own and her comrade's combined attack and the assumed assistance of the other three remaining shinobi, success was within their grasp. She could only pray her plan would go over well and she could finally be freed from this nightmare of a mission once and for all.
